The book shows the selfishness, ego, and conceit of Hassun "Stone" Tyler. He's young, smart, and rich. He has a strong belief in his heritage as an Algonquian Indian and respect for his grandmother, ex Shaman Yani, loves his mother and just want to have fun, lot of sex and a free hand to do as he pleases. He somehow wants to prove to his father that he's a better businessman than his father will ever be. However, his mother see's him as young and impulsive with a need to grow up and find his way. His grandmother see's him as conceited and sly as a fox with the need to settle down with a good woman. His father see's him as an inheritance baby, living off his family with no drive or desires to do what it takes to be a man. But with his psychic power and special gifts powered by the wind he believes the world is his.
